Our Dementia Support initiatives are designed with compassion and care at their core. We are proud to run specific programmes catering to individuals with early-stage or onset dementia, and their carers.
Thanks to the generous funding from the National Lottery, we host a dedicated group at our Surfleet site every Tuesday from 10am to 4pm. We are also excited about the upcoming plans for a new group in Holbeach. These groups offer a blend of mental and physical stimulation with an array of games, activities, and engaging conversations, ensuring that fun is at the heart of what we do. While the attendees enjoy these sessions, carers can take a well-deserved break. There is a fee of £28 for this comprehensive service, which includes all refreshments and a delightful two-course lunch.
The Movement 4 Memory initiative includes our welcoming weekly drop-in Café, situated at our Spalding site every Wednesday from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. This supportive setting is for both the carer and the person they care for. Each session begins with gentle, seated exercises led by a fully qualified trainer. This is followed by a convivial hour of refreshments and a variety of activities ranging from informative talks by local organisations to flower arranging and tea parties. To attend this group, there is a nominal fee of £5, which can be settled on the day.
Our Dementia Support programmes are carefully tailored to create a positive, engaging, and supportive environment for all participants.
