April 2025 Newsletter – Tonic Health Embraces Spring with New Technology and Boston Youth Hub Progress
The April 2025 newsletter from Tonic Health reveals significant developments as the organisation continues to expand its services and enhance community engagement. The Hub remains a vibrant centre of activity, welcoming both returning patrons and newcomers alike.
A notable highlight this month is the acquisition of the innovative Lü Interactive Projector system, which represents a substantial technological investment for the centre. This impressive installation transforms the Sports Hall wall into an interactive gaming space where participants actively engage with projected content by throwing balls at illuminated targets. The system offers a diverse range of applications including games, quizzes, and exercise programmes, cleverly encouraging physical activity in an entertaining format. Staff members have received comprehensive training on the system, with the three-hour session reportedly providing them with an energetic workout of their own!
Meanwhile, the Boston Youth Hub at Pescod Hall continues to make remarkable progress, fuelled by extraordinary community support. Local tradesmen have generously contributed their expertise to address plumbing and electrical requirements, whilst Hills Furniture Store assisted with furniture removal. In a particularly heartwarming display of community spirit, Boston Police Cadets organised a thorough clean of the entire building, including all kitchen equipment.
The organisation has outlined a phased opening schedule, with plans to operate for select days during the Easter holidays, followed by regular after-school sessions twice weekly and Saturday daytime openings until May half-term. This period will culminate in a week dedicated to DIY and decorating efforts before an official opening ceremony.
For those wishing to remain informed about the Boston Youth Hub’s development, Tonic Health has established a dedicated Facebook page providing regular updates on this valuable community resource.
